Manager – Media Information

Job Purpose & Reporting

Responsible for production of ATP media information and implementation of PR & marketing activities.

This position reports to the Senior Vice President of PR & Marketing and is based in the Ponte Vedra Office - International Headquarters.

Responsibilities & Goals

·         Develops ATP media information, publications and website, promoting awareness for publications developed elsewhere to ensure relevance and sensitivity to tournaments, players, media and fans;

·         Develops and implements ATP PR & marketing activities with the objective of raising the profile, awareness and image of the ATP, players and tournaments in his / her respective region;

·         Proactively develops, researches and pitches sports and off-sports story angles in his / her respective region;

·         Represents ATP to on-site media outlets, responds to questions about players and ATP, facilitates interview requests;

·         Liaises with Tournament Directors to coordinate player media and promotional activities and advises and coordinates these requests with players and their representatives;

·         Handles all on-site media interview requests and assists in fulfilling promotional and sponsor-related requests for players;

·         Coordinates all mandatory post-match interviews as well as one-on-one interviews; advises players on scope/content of upcoming interviews;

·         Updates existing media contact and historical results databases;

·         Collects daily press clippings and electronic news videos;

·         Contributes to one or more of the following projects: ATP/Player Clipping and Photo Database, Media Guide, Website Content, Branding, ATP World Tour Uncovered TV Show and/or other special projects handled by PR & Marketing Department.

·         Develops and maintains active and positive relationships with all target groups especially players, tournament directors, media and sponsors in his / her respective region to inform and engage them in ATP operations, initiatives and activities;

·         Coordinate advance publicity with tournament press and PR officers;

Requirements

·         Excellent oral and written communication skills;

·         Extensive tennis knowledge;

·         Experience in public relations, media and communications;

·         Computer skills;

·         Fluency in at least two languages (English + one);

·         Up to 10 weeks of travel to tournaments.

Communications: Community Relations
Manager, Community Relations & Events - USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center (Flushing, NY)

Purpose:

Promote the NTC within the local Queens community.  Manage full cycle of all NTC Events and NTC-US Open related collateral materials. Manage and coordinate all graphic and wayfinding related projects on site.

Duties:

  • Foster efforts to promote NTC’s involvement within the local Queens community and oversee relationships with community stakeholders
  • Works closely with USTA senior staff and lobbyists to determine priority on all community action items.
  • Develop and execute annual Queens Day Event during US Open Qualifying Week.
  • collaborate with all USTA departments for all Queens related events.
  • Work with Manager, Administration to expand & endorse local efforts of US Open Job Fair for Queens’ residents.
  • Collaborate with NTC Tennis Programs staff to create events targeted at attracting the involvement of Queens residents
  • Initiate and oversee full cycle of NTC events from planning to execution:
  • Work closely with USTA Marketing Department to develop, produce and disseminate all NTC and US Open related collateral i.e. Team Member Guide, Tournament guide, Guest Maps, Restaurant Information, Parking Passes, and Restaurant collateral. 
  • Manage and facilitate requests, development, production, and installation of all NTC, ITC, and US Open Graphics needs. This includes but does not limit to: Brochures, Advertisements, Flyers, Way-finding Signage, Vinyl, Posters, Backdrops, and e-mail/web graphics.
  • Work closely with tournament operations department to order locker room supplies and determine/manage laundry needs.
  • Work on special projects related to graphic/stadium décor i.e. selection and production of photos (Getty images) or art pieces for attraction spaces, offices, stadium, courts, and grounds. Coordinate installation with Facility Operations and/or vendors.
  • Other duties as assigned by Director, Event Services.

Qualifications:

·     Bachelor’s degree in Business / Marketing Communications or experience in related field.

·     5+ years of experience working in Events

·     Proficient computer skills required.  Extensive work in MS Office Suite.

·     Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and MS PowerPoint.

·     5+ years marketing experience in the events/sports industry a plus

·     3+ years working with lobbyists/governmental employees a plus

·     Experience and savvy in use of Internet for extensive research.

Communications: Media/Public Relations Servicing
2015 Public Relations Internship - Washington Kastles (Washington, DC)

Job Description: Work with Kastles staff on the communications and community relations efforts of the Washington Kastles. This includes all fan communications, including website, email blasts and social media, as well as assisting with and executing charity requests. Reports to the Communications Director.

Desired Experience: Candidate should have strong writing, social media and organizational skills. Experience in Adobe Creative Suite and Basic HTML skills desired. Sports and/or tennis background a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities:

§  Assist with maintaining the website, social networking sites and Constant Contact, including the preparation of content.

§  Provide regular reports on website traffic, results on email blasts.

§  Coordinate visiting charity groups at team matches for in-game events, including Kastles Kids Tunnel, on-court promotions, etc.

§  Coordinate with charitable partners to allocate the appropriate number of match tickets for each charity for every match.

§  Manage charity event database and fulfill and track charity requests.

§  Provides support to the Grassroots Department and assists with the Kastles’ Ambassadors program as needed.

§  Assist with coordinating Kids Clinics run by coach and players.

§  Attend local events and represent the Kastles in the community.

§  Other duties as assigned by the Communications Director and/or the Executive Management of the Washington Kastles.

Internship will begin on May 26 and end on August 7. All internship positions require a full-time commitment during business hours. Significant weekend and evening hours will also be required, including attendance at all Kastles home matches. Internships are unpaid, but can be done for college credit.

All interns must provide their own computers for use when working with the Washington Kastles.
