Coordinator, Player Communications - ATP Tour, Inc. (Ponte Vedra Beach, FL)

 The Coordinator, Player Communication functions as a member of the Player Relations Department, reporting directly to the Director of Player Relations. This position works closely with the Director of Alumni Relations and the Director of Corporate Communications and PR, and is responsible for the efficient production of a quality Player’s Weekly newsletter and Player Zone (players’ intranet). In addition, this position is required to work in joint-effort with other ATP staff in the preparation of material to be used at various player meetings. Furthermore, this position will also be responsible for creating new communication channels and improve the existing ones to fit the players’ needs.  This position is based in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida and is exempt under the FLSA.

Key Responsibilities:

·         Manage the structure, content, and design of Players’ Weekly (PW) and PlayerZone (PZ).

·         Effectively coordinate with the Player Relations staff, and other ATP staff the week-to week content assignments as related to PW and PZ ensuring consistency of information across all vehicles.

·         Work with graphics and IT staff to properly maintain, enhance and ensure overall quality of PW and PZ.

·         Edit all written elements for PW/PZ and compose stories when required.

·         Produce and edit electronic communication as needed by the department.

·         Revise/Write documents for various meetings including Player Council and Mandatory Player Meetings.

·         Attend Player Council meetings and generate minutes and summaries.

·         Create new communication channels that can be used by Player Relations and other ATP departments to communicate with players more effectively.

·         Support administrative and other duties as required by management of the ATP.

Required Skills and Attributes:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferably in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or Business. 
  • Journalistic/writing/editing experience.
  • Web producing/editing experience.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Tennis knowledge.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to work with others.
  • Ability to think creatively and formulate new ideas.
  • Proficiency in Windows, Excel, Power Point, Word, Photoshop, InDesign, and HTML (preferable).
  • Bilingual (with Spanish as second language) preferred.

Key Performance Measures:

·         Satisfactory review from Director of Player Relations/VP, Player Relations

·         Efficient production and maintenance of PW and PZ, as well as the creation and management of other communication vehicles.

·         Satisfactory production of minutes and summaries from Player Council meetings.

Communications: Head of Web/Media Content
Communications Director - Washington Kastles (Washington, DC)

Job Description
Direct and execute all of the communications efforts of the Washington Kastles. This includes all fan communications, website, email blasts and social media. Works in concert with external public relations staff and reports directly to the Owner and General Manager of the Washington Kastles.

Desired Experience
Strong writing skills are a must; previous experience writing for professional tennis tournaments strongly desired and a tennis background is required. Candidate should also have a communications background, including planning and maintaining websites and managing social media campaigns and accounts. Experience in Adobe Creative Suite as well as basic HTML and video editing skills are pluses.

Candidate must have a proven track record of self-motivation and working independently. The Communications Director will be counted upon to create content to keep fans engaged throughout an 11 month off-season with limited supervision. Examples of this include updating the Kastles history and statistics on the website, the “Battle of the Kastles” fan tournaments and creation of video highlight packages of classic Kastles matches.

•    Write and edit all Kastles communications, including press releases, website content, social media content, public address announcements, letters to season ticket holders, sponsors and VIPs, and marketing communications.
•    Maintain the website and social networking sites, including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
•    Prepare and send out email blasts using Constant Contact.
•    Provide regular reports on website traffic, results on email blasts.
•    Assist in coordinating media events.
•    Act as liaison to public relations agency.
•    Coordinating charity auction and donations throughout offseason, and execution of these items during the Kastles season.
•    Attend local events and represent the Kastles in the Community.
•    Other duties as assigned by the Owner and General Manager of the Washington Kastles.

This is a full-time, year-round position, with a start-date in June 2015. All Kastles positions require a full-time, in-office commitment during business hours. In addition, this position will require significant evening and weekend hours, especially closer to and during the World TeamTennis season in July. Pay is commensurate with experience.

REQUIRED: Writing Samples
