Hall of Fame Tennis Club Coordinator - International Tennis Hall of Fame (Newport, RI)

Position Overview

The Hall of Fame Tennis Club Coordinator is a key team member within the overall tennis club operations staff.  The coordinator will assist in the day to day operations of the indoor and outdoor tennis club seasons and by doing so further the mission and goals of the International Tennis Hall of Fame. 

Key Roles & Responsibilities 

  • Assist the tennis club operations staff in all club functions in accordance with company policy, procedures, mission and goals.
  • Greet members and general public with a professional, courteous and helpful manner.
  • Perform various administrative front desk duties such as answering the phone, taking reservations, processing financial transactions and recording the club activity. 
  • Perform various club maintenance activities from vacuuming, cleaning, court maintenance and other daily activities that may present themselves in the day to day operations of the tennis club.
  • Assist Pro Shop sales and service.
  • Assist with tennis tournaments and club events
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Strong written and oral communications skills.
  • Interest in / knowledge of tennis a plus. 
  • Strong project management skills and ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects at once.
  • Key traits: Team player, self-motivated, has attention to detail, reliable, up-beat personality, customer service, business acumen. 

Location & Time Commitment

  • Position is based at the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, Rhode Island.
  • 40 hours per week. Must be able to work nights and weekends. 

Salary 
Commensurate with experience.

2017 Team Operations Assistant - Washington Kastles (Washington, DC)

Job Description
Assist in managing all aspects of Kastles operations, from stadium management and match operations to grassroots marketing support and and customer service.

Desired Experience
Candidate must have previous experience with project management experience specifically in the area of live events. Strong organizational skills are a must. Previous experience in construction a plus. Sports experience preferred, but not required. Position will require significant, daily physical activity, including routinely moving large objects around the stadium. Therefore, applicant must be in good physical condition and able to lift at least 30 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Work with on-site logistics team for set-up and take down of site.
  • Maintain project schedule and ensure that all tasks are completed on time and on budget.
  • Responsible for ensuring total fan and sponsor satisfaction.
  • Manage and assist with the load in and load out of stadium.
  • Assist with vendor management.
  • Assist with Kastles grassroots marketing efforts, including representing the Kastles are various events
  • Work with Kastles ticketing team to ensure CRM databases are up to date and accurate
  • Assist with coordinating and managing Kastles Match Day Volunteers
  • Work with Kastles Player Services Coordinator on various projects
  • Assist with other general tasks as assigned which contribute to the overall success of the team.
  • Other duties as assigned by the department heads and the executive management of the Washington Kastles.

Seasonal position will begin on July 5 and end on August 11. All seasonal positions require a full-time commitment during business hours. Significant weekend and evening hours will also be required, including attendance at all Kastles home matches. Compensation is $500/week.

All seasonal employees must provide their own computers for use when working with the Washington Kastles.

2017 Stadium Operations Director - Washington Kastles (Washington, DC)

Job Description
Oversee construction of Kastles Stadium inside the Smith Center on the George Washington University campus. Manage all aspects of Kastles matches, from catering partners and concession sales to match operations and customer service. Negotiate contracts with all external vendors. Has significant, daily interaction with Kastles General Manager and Ownership.

Desired Experience
Candidate must have 3-5 years of project management experience specifically in the area of live events. Experience negotiating with external vendors a must. Strong organizational skills are a must. Previous experience in construction a plus. Sports experience preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Negotiating all contracts with external vendors, including construction of the stadium, catering and others.
  • Work with on-site logistics team for set-up and take down of site.
  • Maintain project schedule and ensure that all tasks are completed on time and on budget.
  • Point person for ensuring total fan and sponsor satisfaction.
  • Manage the entire budget for Kastles Stadium at the Smith Center.
  • Coordinate mounting exterior stadium signage and maintaining stadium.
  • Liaison with George Washington University staff for all venue coordination.
  • On-site representative for the Washington Kastles at the Smith Center for all Kastles events, vendor needs and other stadium-related necessities.
  • Supervision of a small in-house seasonal stadium staff.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Kastles executive management, including assisting with grassroots marketing efforts, attending events as a representative of the Washington Kastles, and other tasks as needed.

Seasonal position will begin on February 20 and end on August 31. All seasonal positions require a full-time commitment during business hours. Significant weekend and evening hours will also be required, including attendance at all Kastles home matches. Compensation is dependent on experience, and will be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
