Communications: Writer/Editorial
Freelance Editor - Media Information - ATP Tour, Inc. (201 ATP Tour Blvd., FL)

This freelancer will work on production of ATP media information, including media notes and @ATPMediaInfo tweets, on weekends and select weekdays/weeknights as required. Time commitment per week will vary.

The candidate will work at his or her own workplace and liaise with the Media Information Manager, who is based in the Ponte Vedra Office - International Headquarters.

Tasks

  • ·      Produce media notes for ATP World Tour's 64 events, promoting ATP players, stats and storylines;
  • Post accurate and timely tweets on the @ATPMediaInfo Twitter account, targeting media specifically;
  • Track player accomplishments and biographical details throughout the season, with updates being published in media notes and on ATPWorldTour.com;
  • Assist Media Information Manager while he is on site at tournaments;
  • Assist Media Information Manager in preparation for US Open; during which ATP serves as media information provider in lieu of International Tennis Federation;
  • Team with Media Information Manager in writing, proofreading and editing content for Media Guide;
  • Perform ATP database queries in Microsoft Excel for statistics requested by media and/or used on ATP platforms such as media notes, @ATPMediaInfo Twitter, US Open preparation and Media Guide;
  • Contribute to projects, including database entry for missing rankings, results and player biographical information from the Early-ATP era of the 1970s and 1980s.

Requirements

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Extensive tennis knowledge;
  • Experience in sports information, especially with media notes and media guides;
  • Exceptional attention to detail with eye to making edits when technology fails;
  • Savvy with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel;
  • Quickly learn ATP programs and processes (Media System, H2H Program, Excel database queries)

Japanese Language Freelance Web Editor - ATP Tour, Inc. (London, UK)

ATP is looking for a writer/editor with excellent Japanese- and English-language skills to serve as our on-site web site editor during the Nitto ATP Finals in London at The O2 arena. This short-term contract begins 10 November and runs through 19 November, 2017.

The Nitto ATP Finals is the year-end climax to the men’s professional tennis season, featuring only the world’s best eight qualified singles players and doubles teams as they battle it out for the last title of the season.

Your key responsibility will be translating content appearing on the English version of the official tournament web site and posting it to the Japanese version of the web site. You may also be required to make social media posts. Your workday will start around 11 a.m. GMT and conclude an hour or two after the last match of the evening session.

You will work alongside our English-language editorial and social media teams. Writing and digital media experience is desired, as is a strong tennis knowledge. We will provide training on how to use our content management system.

Sales and Sponsorships/Digital Media Internship- Six Months - ATP Tour, Inc. (Ponte Vedra Beach, FL)

This intern would split his/her time between the Commercial and Digital Media departments, with several overlapping responsibilitites and projects over the course of the SIX MONTH internship.

ATP Commercial Department is the commercial arm of the ATP Tour.  It is responsible for the sales of ATP World Tour sponsorship assets and all commercial inventory at the Nitto ATP Finals, along with the management of existing sponsor benefits.  The objective of this internship is to assist in the development of new sponsorship opportunitites by researching companies and contacts within assigned categories, as well as other special projects.

ATP Digital Media is the digital arm of the ATP Tour.  This department is responsible for the creation and management of all ATP digital properties, including websites, social media platforms and mobile apps.  The objective of this internship is to assist in the creation and analysis of digital media reports to help monitor the health of all ATP digital channels, as well as conduct research on the latest social media trends and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

Sales and Sponsorships

  • Keep up-to-date on trends within sponsorship
  • Research of sales leads and new business opportunities
    • Specific activities would include researching companies within assigned categories and identifying specific contacts
  • Supports in performing various analytical special projects, including working with spreadsheets, presentations and/or database applications to create reports for departmental leadership
  • Account Management Support - responsible for the posting of ATP partner web banners, with the the AdTech online system

Digital Media

  • Run analytics reports on a weekly/monthly/quarterly basis to monitor healt of ATP digital channels
  • Research latest social media trends and best practices
  • Track partner social media promotions

Qualifications and Desired Skills

  • College senior, recent graduation or graduate student
  • A background in business
  • Good knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Ability to quickly learn Commercial CRM system
  • Excellent research skills
  • Good organizational and execution skills, focus on details
  • Strong team player but who can work independently

Internship Period

January - June 2018 and July - December 2018

40 hours per week
